Established in 2002, the CardioVascular Research Foundation (CVRF) is
a non-profit foundation that aims to provide patients with more advanced
treatment methods of cardiovascular diseases. We, CVRF host an international
academic symposium ‘Angioplasty Summit TCT Asia Pacific' every year
and carry out research activities and education programs affiliated with
Asan Medical Center.
CVRF plans and supports high-end clinical research conforming to international
standards of ethicalness and fairness by Clinical Research Coordinating
Center (CRCC) and Translational Research (TR). Well aware of the vital
importance of clinical research and the absolute necessity for a well-arranged
collaborative system to enable knowledge to be applied to its fullest,
this Foundation strives to offer an optimal environment to researchers.
The Angioplasty Summit - TCT Asia Pacific is an annual international
symposium run by CVRF in cooperation with TCT of the United State. Its
11th session was held in 2006 with an aim to propagate standardized knowledge
and skills in cardiology, especially the interventional treatment method,
thereby enhancing clinical research. Importantly, the Angioplasty Summit
TCT Asia Pacific provides an opportunity for attendees to upgrade their
skills through first-hand experience, with live demonstration courses
by cardiology centers around the world presented via satellite television,
as well as learning simulation sessions. Presentation of thesis abstracts
and lecture sessions are also offered, and this Foundation continues to
develop new methods to enhance the efficiency of learning.
Moreover, in recognition of the fact that Internet-based education is
a very efficient method of educating a multitude of people at the same
time, CVRF provides useful information and demonstration on the intervention
treatment method concerning cardiovascular diseases via the website www.summitMD.com,
classifying more than one hundred cases, depending on subjects.
Publication is one of our devotion to distribution the educational effect
in the filed of interventional vascular medicine.
In full knowledge of the importance of providing young medical researchers
with as many opportunities as possible to learn more advanced medical
technologies, we, CVRF runs fellowship training programs in cooperation
with world-famous cardiological centers and the Cardiac Department of
Asan Medical Center in Seoul, Korea. Short and long-term programs are
offered through which researchers can gain knowledge and skills in interventional
treatment of cardiac diseases first-hand. Collaboration opportunities
with other training institutions are also provided to further their research,
or trainees may chose to enhance their skills as practitioners to work
as authoritative doctors at individual cardiac clinics. |
